Trail Blazers' C.J. McCollum: Efficient effort in Thursday's win

CJ McCollum compiled 15 points (5-11 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four assists, two rebounds, three steals and a block across 22 minutes in Thursday's 106-101 preseason win over the Raptors.McCollum was red-hot from long distance during his time on the court, draining multiple threes for the second time in as many exhibitions. The fifth-year guard is 6-for-11 from behind the arc over the first pair of preseason tilts and looks to already be approaching regular-season form. McCollum played 80 games for a second consecutive campaign in 2016-17, generating career bests in points (23.0), rebounds (3.6), shooting percentage (48.0), three-point percentage (42.1) and free-throw percentage (91.2). He's slated for his typical high-usage role alongside perennial All-Star Damian Lillard in the coming season, although the presence of Jusuf Nurkic down low for a full campaign should help redistribute some of the Blazers starting five's offensive load.

Trail Blazers' C.J. McCollum: Posts team-high 32 points in Game 3 loss

CJ McCollum contributed 32 points (10-23 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 6-6 FT), six rebounds and two steals across 39 minutes during a 119-113 loss to the Warriors on Saturday.McCollum scored more than 30 points for the second time in three games so far in the series as he posted a team-high 32 points in the loss. The six three-pointers made marked his highest total since Dec. 10. McCollum has been a great scorer so far in the series, but after he averaged 3.6 assists per game during the regular season, he has just a combined total of three assists so far in this series.

Trail Blazers' C.J. McCollum: Goes Ice-cold in blowout loss

CJ McCollum contributed 11 points (4-17 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one steal over 30 minutes in Wednesday's 110-81 loss to the Warriors. After scoring 41 in Game 1 of the series, McCollum had a horrific evening on Wednesday, shooting a mere 23.5 percent from the floor with many shots going way off the mark. He had been listed on the injury report with an ankle sprain, and although he started at shooting guard as usual, he may have been feeling some ill effects from that injury. He joined the rest of Portland's starters on the bench in the fourth quarter which also contributed to his light stat line. The backcourt tandem of McCollum and Damien Lillard scored 75 points in Game 1, and combined for only 23 points on Wednesday. This will have to change if Portland has any chance to compete with Golden State. They return to Portland on Saturday which is a tough place to play, and they will most likely get Jusuf Nurkic (leg) back, but McCollum will need to regain his shot if they are to contend with the Warriors.

Trail Blazers' C.J. McCollum: Starting Wednesday

CJ McCollum will start at shooting guard for Wednesday's Game 2 against the Warriors. No surprise here, as McCollum was listed as probable heading into the evening. He had a monster Game 1, posting 41 points (16-28 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT) to go along with eight rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block across 41 minutes. His presence on the team's injury report figured to be more of a formality, so look for him to take on a full workload Wednesday.

Trail Blazers' C.J. McCollum: Probable for Wednesday vs. Warriors

CJ McCollum is probable for Wednesday's Game 2 against Warriors due to a right ankle sprain, Casey Holdahl of NBA.com reports.McCollum had monster 41 points (16-28 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT) to go along with eight rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block across 41 minutes in Sunday's Game 1 loss to the Warriors. It seems unlikely the guard would miss Wednesday's critical Game 2, barring any major setbacks to his ankle. Should he be cleared to play, the Portland Trail Blazers may decided to restrict his minutes, as he is expected to hover around 40 minutes per contest. Look for more updates on his status to come after Wednesday morning shootaround.

Trail Blazers' C.J. McCollum: Scores playoff career-high 41 points Sunday

CJ McCollum provided 41 points (16-28 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), eight rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block across 41 minutes during Sunday's 121-109 loss to the Warriors.McCollum got hot in the first half, hitting 11 of his 15 attempts on route to 27 points, matching a Trail Blazer playoff record for most points in a half. He ended up finishing 16-for-28, dropping a playoff career-high 41 points, though his team couldn't seal a victory. While he only managed to hand out one assist, his eight rebounds and electric scoring performance likely makes up for it for those who deployed him in fantasy. Assuming he can get more help from his teammates, who only scored 34 points minus Damian Lillard's 34-point performance, McCollum will probably have a better chance of getting closer to his 3.6 assists per game average in the following games. Look for him to stay aggressive moving forward, likely seeing around 40 minutes per game for the remainder of the series, assuming the games stay close.

Trail Blazers' C.J. McCollum: Will play Sunday vs. Warriors

CJ McCollum (hand) isn't listed with an injury in the game notes for Sunday's playoff opener against the Warriors. Both McCollum and Damin Lillard (foot) missed the last two games of the regular season with minor injuries, but as expected, they won't linger into the postseason. McCollum is no longer listed on the injury report, so look for him to take on a full workload while returning to his spot as the team's starting shooting guard. Pat Connaughton and Jake Layman will likely see their playing time take the biggest hit, as they fall into a much smaller role off the bench with McCollum available.

Trail Blazers' C.J. McCollum: Out Wednesday vs. Pelicans

CJ McCollum (hand) will remain sidelined for Wednesday's regular-season finale against the Pelicans, Casey Holdahl of TrailBlazers.com reports.McCollum and Damian Lillard (foot) are set to sit out for a second game in a row, although neither player is considered to be dealing with anything serious and should be good to go heading into the playoffs. That said, Shabazz Napier and Pat Connaughton drew the start at point guard and shooting guard, respectively, on Monday and should be in line for another hefty workload. Napier finished Monday's game with 32 points, six rebounds and five assists across 37 minutes, while Connaughton added 15 points, four rebounds and three assists. Both provide some intrigue has cheap DFS options Wednesday.

Trail Blazers' C.J. McCollum: Sitting out Monday vs. Spurs

CJ McCollum is listed as out for Monday's game against the Spurs with a right hand strain, Joe Freeman of The Oregonian reports. Both McCollum and Damian Lillard (foot) will be held out of action Monday after the Blazers officially clinched a playoff berth Sunday. Whether McCollum is actually battling a legitimate injury is up for debate, but his absence comes on the heels of a nightmarish 4-of-20 shooting performance Saturday against the Jazz. With the starting backcourt, as well as Allen Crabbe (foot), out of commission Monday, expect Shabazz Napier, Evan Turner, Tim Quarterman and Pat Connaughton to all see increased minutes.

Trail Blazers' C.J. McCollum: Endures terrible shooting night Saturday

CJ McCollum mustered nine points (4-20 FG, 1-4 3Pt), five assists, three rebounds and one block over 35 minutes in Saturday's 101-86 win over the Jazz. While considerably frustrating, McCollum's worst shooting night of the season was tolerable because of Damian Lillard's record-breaking 59-point effort. It was the fourth-year guard's second sub-40 percent shooting effort in the last four games and his first single-digit point tally since March 14. Despite the forgettable night, McCollum will naturally continue to serve as an integral component of the Portland attack as the Blazers attempt to hold on to the eighth seed in the Western Conference over their final two games.
